Personal details

Yannik Ille studied chemical engineering at KIT and started his PhD at IKFT in April 2014. His research area is the modelling of the condensation of fast pyrolysis vapours including aerosol formation. This work is a cooperation between the IKFT at Campus North and the ITTK at Campus South of the KIT. A simulation tool developed at ITTK for the aerosol formation in gas/liquid contact devices is adapted for the challenges in fast pyrolysis. Besides the aerosol formation, the focus of this work is on the modelling of the phase equilibrium of fast pyrolysis bio-oils. Therefore Mr. Ille applied for and managed a cooperation project between KIT and the thermodynamic institute of the Planta Piloto de Ingenieria Quimica (PLAPIQUI) in Bahia Blanca, Argentina (www.plapiqui.conicet.gov.ar) funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. In the framework of this project he spend 4 month as a guest scientist in Argentina.
