Manuel Rosato studied Chemical Engineering and Process Engineering (CIW) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

He has been a doctoral student at the Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT) since April 2025.

The project: HyPerCat

Hydrogen peroxide is a green oxidizing agent and a basic chemical with a large production volume and diverse applications.

In order to make production more sustainable, a synthesis directly from H2 and O2 can be carried out instead of the widely used antraquinone process.

Direct synthesis can be carried out thermocatalytically and electrochemically. The HyPerCat project aims to develop a concept for joint production.

Doctoral project

Manuel Rosato is investigating the thermocatalytic direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide in his doctoral thesis.

He is operating a continuous stirred tank and carrying out kinetic investigations with the aim of modeling the reaction kinetics.
