Personal details

Jakob Biesinger studied chemical engineering and process engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In his master's thesis, he dealt with the chemical storage of hydrogen in liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs). He investigated the dehydrogenation reaction in a novel reactor concept, the continuously operated three-phase slurry reactor. In addition, he synthesized, characterized and tested various catalyst systems. Since April 2025, Mr. Biesinger has been working as a doctoral student in the "Catalyst Synthesis and Scale-up" group in the "Catalyst Materials and Process Development" department at the Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT). His research focuses on the (autonomous) development of novel catalysts and reactor concepts in the field of LOHCs.
