IKFT at the Syngas Convention 5 in Cape Town
The 5th edition of the Syngas Convention took place between the 22nd and the 25th of March in Cape Town, South Africa. The Care-O-Sene project, which is a cooperation between partners in South Africa and Germany for the development of sustainable aviation fuels, was strongly represented in the conference, with lectures from academia and industry. From IKFT, Prof. Felix Studt held a keynote lecture on simulation of cobalt particles, Dr. Anna Zimina presented the results from her latest publication about in-situ and operando characterization of commercial Fischer-Tropsch catalysts, and Rabia Ilica talked about structure-activity relationships in Mn promoted cobalt-based catalysts.
In the topic of methanol synthesis, Dr. Stephan Pitter held a lecture about the upscaling of catalyst production exemplified by a Cu/ZnO/ZrO2 system. Fabian Neumann presented his results on the catalyst shaping, and Gabriela Rodrigues Niquini showed her results for the kinetic modeling of CO2-based methanol synthesis.
