Night of Science at KIT

On 21 November, the Night of Science took place at KIT, and IKFT contributed to the vibrant program. In addition to the lecture ‘Catalysts – Hidden Champions of our World and the Energy Transition’ by TT Prof. Dr. Moritz Wolf at midnight, the Wolf group presented its research topics to visitors, focusing in particular on the fundamental principles of catalysis with the aid of illustrative, interactive models. The Collaborative Research Centre TrackAct  was presented and experiments were conducted onsite demonstrating catalytic applications in the hydrogen economy. In addition to a hand-operated electrolyser for hydrogen production, hydrogen was released from liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs).
