Personal details

Cherie Hsu studied chemical engineering at the State University of New York at Buffalo in the United States (2013-2018). With an interest in the energy industry as a chemical engineer, she finished the EIT InnoEnergy Energy Technology double masters’ program with a M.Sc. in energy engineering and management at Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal and a M.Sc. in chemical and process engineering at Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT) in Germany (2019-2021). In her master thesis, she focused on the experimental studies of the catalytic influence during biofuel optimizations in the Engler-Bunte-Institute, Division Fuel Technology (EBI-ceb) at KIT. In 2022, she joined Prof. Dr. Moritz Wolf as a Ph.D. student in his research group "Material Synthesis and Scale-Up" in the department of "Catalyst Materials and Process Development" at the Institute of Catalysis Research and Technology (IKFT) at KIT. She is also part of the CARE-O-SENE project to develop next-generation Fischer-Tropsch catalysts to optimize production of sustainable aviation fuel.
