Personal Details
Dr. Alexey Boubnov is an experimentalist in the fields of heterogeneous catalysis and operando spectroscopy. His main interests lie in deriving structure-activity relationships for catalysts under technically relevant reaction conditions. This includes exhaust-gas after-treatment, syngas processes, electrocatalysis. His long-term expertise is the design and construction of reactors and gas manifolds for studying catalysts with X-ray absorption spectroscopy (EXAFS, XANES), infrared spectroscopy and other techniques. Very strong emphasis is on data analysis: EXAFS refinement, theoretical XANES simulation using FEFF9, detailed understanding of the molecular/crystal structure, transient spectroscopy.
