VERENA Pilot Plant

Based on experimental results in the laboratory, the VERENA pilot plant ("Experimental plant for the energetic use of agricultural materials") with a total throughput of 100 kg per hour (max. solids content 20%) was built and is now in use. The plant was designed for a working pressure of up to 35 MPa and a maximum temperature of 700°C. VERENA is the first completely equipped continuously operating plant worldwide for biomass gasification in supercritical water.
